Vernon and Alice Boyd are the 2009 Friends of the Year, honored September 21 by the Friends of ACU Library for their gift of the R. Vernon Boyd Collection of oral histories collected in the course of his research into the history of African-American Churches of Christ. The Boyds continue to focus on racial reconciliation and the history of churches in Michigan.
